Our origins

QUANTRO is pioneering transcriptomic drug discovery

After successful implementation of our drug discovery platform, QUANTRO is now creating innovative, first-in-class R&D portfolios, internally and in strategic pharma partnerships. Starting in 2019 with SLAMseq®, discovered by QUANTRO co-founders Stefan Ameres and Johannes Zuber, QUANTRO was founded as an IMBA and IMP spin-out. Since then, the company has successfully translated the originating science into a high-performance industrial drug discovery platform.

How we work

At QUANTRO, we integrate time-resolved transcriptomics, functional cancer genetics, bioinformatics, structural biology, advanced data analysis, medicinal chemistry and early development to rapidly move from discovery to clinical development.

Dr Michael Bauer

Chief Executive Officer

Michael Bauer is a biotech executive with 30 years of experience in drug development, company building and financing. His career includes leadership roles at Zeneca/Syngenta, Novartis Oncology, Arpida and Polyphor, where he worked across late-stage development, first-in-human oncology programmes and corporate growth. He also co-founded and led Cellestia Biotech before joining QUANTRO as CEO.
